a. Login and Registration
Teamwire offers three options to access your account:
- Register
Access via email confirmation and PIN by SMS
- Sign in
You will need your user ID (email) and a password
- Sign in (MDM)
MDM-managed devices allow automated sign in to Teamwire
If you are not sure about the right approach to log in to Teamwire, please contact your administrator.
Registration - Email and SMS
When starting Teamwire for the first time, this option can be accessed by tapping Register. This is a common two-factor authentication; therefore make sure you have access to your email account and to use a mobile number allowing you to receive the PIN by SMS.
For registration, please follow these steps:
- Select your country code and enter your mobile number (without country code), e.g. 07911123456 or 7911123456.
- Enter your business mail address.
- OPTIONAL: If a backend hostname is required during the registration process, you can obtain this from your administrator. By default, leave this field empty.
- Providing you are satisfied with the terms of service and privacy policy, please accept them and tap Next.
- Open your mailbox. You will receive an email with a weblink to confirm your address. After doing so successfully, return to the Teamwire app and tap Yes, I confirmed my email.
- You will receive an SMS with a 6-digit PIN. Enter the PIN into the app.
- Teamwire will automatically start synchronising your messages and contacts. Please do not close the app during this process.
As soon as you enter the message inbox, you are ready to use Teamwire.
In case you change your mind during the registration to use the password login, simply go back and select the option Have a password? Log in.
Sign in - User ID and password
When starting Teamwire for the first time, this option can be accessed by tapping Sign in.
If your administrator has provided you login information, you can sign in as follows:
- Enter the user ID (your mail address) that you have been given.
- Enter the password you have been given.
- OPTIONAL: If a backend hostname is required during the registration process, you can obtain this from your administrator. By default, leave this field empty.
- Providing you are satisfied with the terms of service and privacy policy, please accept them and tap Next.
- Teamwire will automatically start synchronising your messages and contacts. Please do not close the app during this process.
As soon as you enter the message inbox, you are ready to use Teamwire.
To sign in with a user ID (email) and password, your Teamwire administrator has to have enabled the feature on the server. Your password will be provided by the admin. For security and privacy reasons, you should change your password after your first login. Please take a look at Change Password for more information.
Sign in - Mobile Device Management (MDM)
In case your mobile is managed by an MDM system (e.g. MobileIron, VMware AirWatch®, BlackBerry®, etc.), your Teamwire or IT system administrator might configure an automated sign in process for the Teamwire app.
In that case, start the Teamwire app, which will recognise that your device is managed by an MDM. The MDM app (e.g. MobileIron Mobile@Work) might ask you to authenticate. Once you have confirmed its request, Teamwire will automatically proceed with your login. It will not be necessary to manually enter your user ID, a password or your mobile number.
